Fishing Seasons for Various Types of Seafood Throughout the Year

Fish such as tuna, mackerel, marlin, and swordfish: These are usually found in offshore waters where strong currents and abundant food sources are present. The fishing season for these types of fish is quite long, extending from spring to autumn. However, the peak season typically falls in the summer months when the fish gather in large schools. The coastal provinces of Central and Southern Vietnam are often the main fishing grounds.
 

Red snapper: This species lives in coastal waters and coral reefs. The fishing season for red snapper usually focuses on the spring and autumn months when the fish move closer to shore to spawn. Coastal provinces from North to South all have red snapper fishing, but the Central and Southern provinces are particularly known for high-quality red snapper.

Threadfin: Also a coastal species. The fishing season for threadfin is similar to that of red snapper, concentrating in the spring and autumn months. The Central and Southern provinces are typically the main fishing areas.

Emperor fish: One of the rare and economically valuable fish species. Emperor fish usually live in deep waters and have complex migration patterns. Catching emperor fish requires advanced techniques and is often carried out by large fishing vessels.
